"She worked so incredibly hard it's crazy," Hunter Wetzel said of his mother.įor Couts, the experience of working alongside her son has opened her eyes to different ways of working and to "maybe just enjoying it a little bit more and not being so serious about everything."Īs for the future, Hunter Wetzel plans on following one of his siblings into the video game industry with his development company Runstar, which he started with childhood friends.Īnd Couts is not stopping at a bachelor's degree - she will be pursuing her doctorate in higher education and student development and plans to focus on helping nontraditional students like herself. "Every time I came home for a family dinner, these two were reading each other's papers and I couldn't talk to them for 30 minutes until they were done," Wetzel's sibling Karlee remembered. "'I'm going to be with my friends for the most part.'"īut the mother and son found each other as valuable study buddies, looking over each other's assignments and giving feedback. "The main thing was, I was like, 'Mom, I'm going to need space,'" Wetzel said. She selected UC Irvine to avoid a long commute from her home in Rancho Santa Margarita but first got permission from her son. When it came time to apply to transfer schools, Couts selected Cal State Fullerton, UC San Diego, where she was offered a full-ride scholarship, and UC Irvine. Shortly before Wetzel started at UC Irvine, Couts began taking classes at Saddleback College after a nearly two-decade break. Mom cannot come to college."īut it was Wetzel's entrance into college that spurred Couts to reenter academia and chase the goal of a college degree. "As a freshman, it would have been a hard no," Couts said, laughing. Couts began attending the university when Hunter was a junior. She never cramped my style, he said, although he acknowledged that had his mom started UC Irvine when he was a freshman he might have felt different. "I would say I'm impressed, but it's 100% expected," Wetzel said. "And this whole thing has taught me that she actually gets both."īut Couts' penchant for academics did not surprise Wetzel. "I just always thought she was very like right-brained - really emotional, really empathetic, good at problem-solving, that sort of thing. "I'm just trying to be a little bit in the moment right now," she said.įor some, the idea of attending college with a parent might be terrifying - an encroachment on the freedom college often represents.īut for Wetzel, the experience was rewarding. Wetzel received his bachelor's degree in anthropology on the same day from the university.Ĭouts said the experience of graduating alongside her son was surreal. She also received a host of awards and honors, including the Chancellor's Award, the Schonfeld Scholar Award and the UCI Alumni Assn.’s Distinguished Anteater Award. (Gary Coronado / Los Angeles Times)įaith Couts always dreamed of pursuing a college degree, but "the timing was never right."Ĭouts, 50, had her first child during her senior year in high school and enrolled in community college in Las Vegas.īut being a single parent was "overwhelming" and college faded out of the picture as Couts worked to support her growing family, which includes her son, Hunter Wetzel, 22.īut on Friday, Couts finally realized her dream and received her bachelor's degree in social policy and public service from the UC Irvine's School of Social Sciences. Couts received a degree in social policy and public service and Wetzel a degree in anthropology. Faith Couts, 50, left, and son Hunter Wetzel, 22, both of Rancho Santa Margarita, graduate together during a ceremony held at the Donald Bren Center on the campus of the University of California, Irvine on Friday.

See the change log for more details.Īvailable now for both apps. This is a minor maintenance release for the macOS app. This update adds iOS 13 support, which includes support for Dark Mode, improves the in-list search experience and fixes a number of crashes and performance issues. Overall, text should be more readable and consistent throughout the app nowĭynamic Type Latest update - v2.9.42 ⟶Īvailable now for both apps. It also restores the medium weight that was applied to certain labels prior to adding Dynamic Type support. This maintenance release resolves most of those. Support for Dynamic Type in v2.9.51 was a big improvement but it did introduce some inconsistencies. The next release One of the next few releases will, finally, include support for Siri Shortcuts. This affected the iOS and macOS apps and should be resolved now.now. If you were affected by this, resubscribing to the podcast would appear to work but it would eventually be deleted again in the future. The fixes and changes are mentioned in the change log.Īlso fixed in this update is a syncing issue that could lead to the deletion of a podcast subscription after Downcast detected that it's feed URL was permanently changed. This build addresses that issue and fixes several issues with the 'Resolve Inaccessible Resource Issues' dialog that was created to help you resolve these issues when Downcast can't do so automatically. Unfortunately, Downcast wasn't handling a specific recoverable condition correctly prior to this build and that led to users experiencing this frustrating 'inaccessible resource' issue when they shouldn't have. When this happens, it's usually possible for the app to automatically refresh the bookmark and continue operating without issue. However, these bookmarks can become stale or invalid for a variety of reasons. Bookmarks are a more robust way to keep track of the content Downcast downloads like artwork, episode media files, etc. Per Apple's suggestion, Downcast stores security-scoped bookmarks for file system resources rather than absolute paths. This update contains a big improvement in Downcast's macOS app that reduces the chances of running into the dreaded 'inaccessible resource' issue. This feature will be available in the beta in the next few days! See the change log for the full list of changes. Hold the CMD key while on the player view to see the supported shortcuts. The bug still exists, but this update manages to work around it.ĭowncast now supports basic keyboard shortcuts on the player view when using an external keyboard. This was caused by a bizarre problem with Apple's Bitcode technology that can affect devices with 32-bit architectures, like the Series 1-3 Apple Watches. This updates fixes a bug introduced in v2.9.61 that prevented the player view in the watchOS app from loading on Series 1, 2, and 3 devices. Please contact support if you want to suggest any additional shortcuts. The other shortcuts require Downcast to be running. If it isn't running, it will be launched in the background. The "Play" shortcut can be executed when Downcast is running or suspended. This can be useful for building complex shortcuts that use information about the current episode. This shortcut will return a data structure that contains information about the current episode in Downcast like title, play position, duration, the artwork, etc. There is another shortcut, not visible within the app, but configurable within the Siri Shortcuts app, called "Current Episode Information". If this becomes a problem you can just setup specific shortcuts for problematic podcasts or playlists within the "Siri Shortcuts" view on Downcast's "More" tab with a custom phrase. Siri doesn't always seem to recognize podcast and playlist titles, especially when they contain multiple words. Or, if there are no partially played episodes, the most recent unplayed episode. This logic will be updated soon to resume the most recently played, but not yet finished, episode. For playlists, this will start playback of the first episode in the playlist. or "Hey Siri, Play playlist in Downcast"įor podcasts, this will start playback of the first episode in the podcast's local episodes list. All you have to do is speak one of the following commands: You can also initiate playback using the standard media intent shortcuts without configuring anything in Downcast or in the "Siri Shortcuts" app. This view shows you a list of the available shortcuts you can setup within Downcast as well as any you've already configured here. You'll find a new button called "Siri Shortcuts" on the "More" tab. This update finally introduces Siri Shortcuts support for Downcast. 8/14/2023 0 Comments Travelers rest high school fightThe faculty seem to care about the success of each student. Parent: Greenville Technical Charter High School is a great school! It has small class sizes that allow faculty to get to know students well and help them when needed. Staff and Teachers care about students (sometimes a bit too much) personal and in class issues. I also wish the School would invest more in the prospect of having a library. I do wish the school cared and supported the Music and Arts more. This is especially true on dress code issues and interactions between genders. Administration is sometimes overly-strict and exaggerating at times. The social order of students isn't really a problem as a lot of student would be considered nerds or geeks in other schools. Even though the campus is still very diverse with student from America, Middle East, Europe, Central and South America, and India. The Middle/High School is Small with less than 300 students. I think the School provides a special environment for students. The School is public but managed like a private school. Senior: I have attended Green Charter School as a student since 7th grade. Overall has been a fantastic experience!. At least the surrounding city of Greenville is fantastic. The social scene still has all the traditional pitfalls of highschool, if not heightened due to the residential living situation, but that is unavoidable. The residence hall is small and dated, and the food provided by Aramark is notoriously bad, but there always seems to be vegan and kosher options available, even if they’re very simple. Academics are strong, but sometimes overwhelming, and administration and fellow staff has an alarming turn over rate, that being said, if you believe you are a capable student you can make it.ĭorms and food are so so. If you or your kid has a talent for the arts they will get some world class training from world class professors here. Not only is the schedule built like a college schedule, but the same rhetoric applies to class structure and community being built. Junior: I have never felt more prepared and excited for college than I do at this school. 8/14/2023 0 Comments Mcdonalds logo tik tokMaking the McDonald’s logo from scratchA Blueprint for a Logo Evan Finds the Third Room - Khruangbin. Initially developed under a custom license, later releases were licensed under various versions of the GNU General Public License. Since then, it has been ported to Linux, macOS, and FreeBSD. The early versions would require high-power hardware to run games in a consistent manner and therefore garnered controversy. The first version was released in May 2005 for Microsoft Windows.
8/14/2023 0 Comments Menu new orleans food and spiritsEach work of art was carefully considered to create an aesthetically pleasing and meaningful statement. The works of art at The Royal Sonesta New Orleans are in our public spaces like the lobby and PJ's Coffee Cafe. The works reflect the artist's vision while illuminating some of the most significant movements in contemporary art, including Conceptual, Minimal and Pop Art. This group of works consists of more than 7,000 contemporary paintings, sculptures, original prints, and tapestries by both emerging and established artists such as Frank Stella, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Sol Lewitt, Jan Dibbets, Malcolm Morley, and Carl Palazzolo. Initiated in the early 1960s, Sonesta's Art Collection is one of the first corporate hotel programs dedicated to original art by nationally and internationally known artists. Two years later, Royal Sonesta New Orleans opened its doors. In 1967, the Vieux Carre Commission approved plans to begin construction of what would become a landmark French Quarter hotel. Nearly 70 years later, the owners of the Sonesta brand at that time, the Sonnabends, were introduced to developer Lester Kabacoff and soon the site of the old brewery would be repurposed. In 1890, the American Brewing Company purchased the winery and expanded the building to encompass an entire city block. During the 19th Century, Bourbon Street became a thriving commercial district with everything from a costume shop to a winery. Originally, houses, courtyards, and carriageways occupied the 300 block of Bourbon Street. The site of The Royal Sonesta New Orleans dates back to 1721 when French military engineer Adrien de Pauger first laid out the city of New Orleans. Geoprocessing is the traditional way to process raster and image data where the output from the tool is saved as a file on disk. Save raster function templates, share them with other users, and import them in several places across the ArcGIS platform. You can save the results at any point in the processing chain. Raster function templates perform multiple raster function operations on layers, mosaic datasets, and image services.
